Hey guys

Crazy week here in arizona. So we started off the week making sure everything was getting ready for Nancy and Hannys baptism. We got a lot done and it was good. We taught a few lessons and found a few promising people. Then Wednesday comes around and transfers come and go and there's no changes so we just kept working. Well at about 2 that day I get a phone call from the mission president telling me I have a few hours to pack and leave because I was being transferred. That was hard. Especially because he had previously told me that i would be staying there the rest of my mission. I really loved that ward, and area, and we had so much going on it was great. Im now in a area a little west of my old area called La Joya. It's definitely different from the last ward so well see how it goes.My companions name is elder johnson from Georgia. He has been out 3 months and doesn't seem to want to be here, so itll be the goal to help him want to learn Spanish and be a missionary. We also cover a ysa in english so thats a pretty big change too haha. So well see how this transfer goes.
I am in the same zone and district so that's kinda fun.

Saturday and sunday were really good tho. Saturday morning Nancy and Haney were baptized and it was perfect! It was the first time ive had a bpatism were something major did not go wrong. It was pretty cool. Then on sunday i was able to go back and do the confirmation for Nancy. It was a really special experience to be a part of.

Sunday was packed with stuff. So we had a meeting at 7 and we had to go pick up some other elders so we were up at 530 to do everything. Then we ran to Cielito at 9 to do the confirmation. Then we ran to la joya for another meeting at 10 then had church at 11. Then we left mid way, and ran to he ysa ward at 1. Its super weird and quiet haha. I felt weird haha. The we had dinner at 5, some finding with a ysa member and then a lesson at 8. It was a long day haha. Luckily we were able to do this because i am no longer on a bike haha, which im surprisingly sad about. I had just accepted my fate of being on bike and was enjoying it.

I guess that's how the mission goes. As soon as you feel good and are getting comfortable it means its time to change.

Hope you guys are all doing good!

Love ya'll,

Elder Miller

Hey guys,

Kinda a crazy day trying to figure out transfers. A bunch of different stuff was going on but I will be staying in Phoenix with elder Lewis.

Its been a little harder week, but we had an awesome weekend! Especially saturday, we didn't stop all day. we got and exercised and went over to a members and had breakfast and helped take down their Christmas lights haha. It was really yummy. Then we brought a change of cloths and biked over to Hermana espinozas house. She was the inactive that moved here from Mexico but wanted to become active again, and then her daughter who is 17 had a baby like two weeks ago, and the ward did a amazing job loving them and bringing them in by throwing a baby shower. It was great. Anywho come to find out the babies father is named Daniel and he is super pumped about the gospel and learning! We taught him the first lesson, and he told us about how he knows he is going to be baptized, he just wants to learn more,  but that baptism is already a goal for him! That's pretty sweet. He is very prepared, and really wants to learn more. He said he was not only willing, but excited to search for an answer to the the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon! It's awesome.

Then we rode on over to nancys house where we starting figuring out her baptismal program. She seemed so happy talking about it. It was a special gift to see her so happy. Haney decided that she wanted elder Lewis to baptize her, and im super happy for him, not only is this his first baptism in the mission, but he gets to do the ordinance as well. It's going to be great! Nancy asked her cousin who is a recent return missionary to baptize her, it was really cool to see.
Then we went over to have a lesson with Nuvia and hna correa. It was really good, and Nuvia seemed to pay attention a lot more when hna correa was there. It was probably our first lessons where she got a large part out of it haha. It was good tho. Hna Correa is probably the best missionary member ive worked with in my whole mission. I got to be with her at the very begging of my mission as well so it's super fun to be back working with her. She is the relief society president and she is fantastic.

Then we biked up to dinner with the familia cid. Hna cid was in California, so Hno took us out to eat. But to get there he drove us in his big 12 seater van, that instead of seats he had big lazy boys πŸ˜‚ haha it was great. We had some fun at a Chinese restaurant, but then had to keep goin. We then spent a large part of the night looking for more people, until we finally came home, and took an hr or so to do some personal study. We really worked hard, and it felt awesome.
Then on Sunday we had 7 people come to church including Rylan the little 10 year old, and his mom who also isn't a member. It was really cool. then that night we found this guy named Julio and he is from cuba. He is a really nice guy. We only got to be with him for a little but after our short little lesson, he asked if we could come back. He also told us he wanted to be baptized! The only problem is that he works on sundays. Ugh nothing is that easy haha. But itll be good, were excited to go back.

So we finished off well 😊 Heavenly Father really helped us in the lessons, and we have some amazing people we get to teach and be apart of their growth. I love seeing them grow and learn of the hope Christ brings. I love this gospel and can't imagine living without it. I truly have a testimony of it, and the blessings it brings, now my goal these last 5 months it that I really am trying to work on is becoming converted to the lord. Ive been studying about it, and thanks to some advise from some amazing people, i think a big key is consistency. Consistently doing the things Heavenly Father has asked us to do like prayer and scriptures. Every single day, and then adding upon it. Trying to be like christ, do the little things too.  There is so much power and blessings we receive when we do these things. so as missionaries do all day, i want to give you an invitation. I invite you guys to try it, if youre not already, to read and pray everyday for a week and see if you feel a difference. One of my favorite parts of being a missionary is promising blessing too. So as a representative of Jesus Christ I can promise you if you try it for a week, you will see some incredible blessings in you life.

I love you guys, and I want you guys to know how much i love this Gospel.

Have a great week!

Hey guys

We had some more great lessons with nuvia and Nancy, and they are both progressing well.
Nancy and her daughter are so ready to be baptized on the. 18!

I think the highlight for me would of been exchanges with elder clough! He was my companion in cottonwood. He is one of my favorite companions. He's such a great guy.
This is a little blurb from my journal that day.
3-4-17. Exchanges with clough
Today was quite the day. I got to be back with elder clough for a day! It was awesome. And then our companions were together and they are both elder Lewis so I wondered how that went haha. But to start off, they had a bunch of cereal over there, and I havnt had cereal in at least a year now, and I just caved in hard. I had apple jacks and fruity pebbles and captain crunch, it was so good haha πŸ˜‚. That really buzzed me awake haha. Then we got out and biked a pretty good way to a recent converts house. He was a little 8 year old who just got baptized and he is awesome. He knows so much and just is so great. And his parents are awesome too, they just need to figure out a divorce from a past marriage to then be able to get married and get baptized, story of the mission. But they are super nice, and they are Eloteros, where they ride their bikes around and sell elotes. They hooked us up with what they call Tosti locos. It's some salsa Tostito things, and then he puts in cabbage, cucumbers, those Asian peanuts, lime, chili, and chamoy and you eat it with a spoon. It was so good. I loved it. And to sit there and listen to how hard they work and their story about coming across and how hard that can be. He was such an awesome guy tho.
Then we headed over to the church and studied together. While we were at the church, elder paddon and walker come in and walker is doing a handstand on a chair thing, so of course clough tries and then I follow. As I go up a slightly start to fall and so I tried moving my legs to catch my balance.... and rip my pants all the way down the middle hahaha. We were laughing so hard. So some elders drove us home and I grabbed new pants and lucky it all worked out, but it was bad haha.

Then we went to a crazy house with 8 kids from age 7 to 22 and it was just madness haha. We didn't really get to teach they just all sorta talk at the same time and it was super loud, and ya haha. Then we did a little finding and talked all about cottonwood and memories and all that. It was super fun being back with him. At points I completely forgot we were on exchanges, that today would have to come to an endπŸ˜•

The just kept going. After having a nice dinner we are playing catch outside with a football and then we end up needing to leave. As we are ridding away, elder clough wants to catch in while riding his bike, so the girl we are with tries to pass it to him. It ends up being super short, and the ball gets stuck right under his wheel, and he just goes flying. He flipped over his handlebars and just skids on his back. He said it didn't hurt too bad, but it looked painful. She felt so bad, but the rest of us were all laughing pretty hard.
Later we had a lesson with a inactive family. Just as most, they had had some trials come up and had just stopped coming. We shard my favorite video gracias a el, and it always bring the spirit. We talked overcoming our challenges and how He is always right there just waiting for us to take our step and do our part. I think they were all touched by the spirit, and all decided together they were going to come back to church tomorrow! It was really cool to see.
Of course we had to finish off the exchange right and just like the old days we went to sonic and got shakes 😏 it was fun to be with clough again. I love him. He really is my favorite companion I've had. He is just so happy and positive all the time. I really want to be like that. I'm still trying to figure out just how to do that. But I really would love to. He just talked about how good he feels and happy and everyone can see it and just loves being around him. He's a good guy. I hope I can still be friends with him after.
Then to make the end of the night even better, 10 of us packed into the Aps apartment and we learned about Sally up. It is where you put on a song that say "bring sally up and bring sally down..." and you do push-ups to it, and it gets hard. I only made it a little past a minute, but elder paddon hit 2:30 it was impressive. It was fun to be there all together and it's a fun little workout.
It was a great day, I feel great, we worked hard, and I'm ready to go to bed.

So ya haha there were a few other part but ya it was a super fun, spiritual packed day.

This area is packed with Hispanics so it's been great. On Sunday night we stopped by a less actives house that is coming back to church these last couple weeks, and we met their daughters boyfriend who is pumped to talked to us. He told us he wants to be baptized but just wants to make sure he learns a little more haha. He is a super nice kid and seems to really want learn so it should be awesome.

Well that's kinda it for this week
Love you guys

Hey guys,

Another awesome week in the books. I sadly dont have a ton of time
we've been doing some errands and what not, but the lord is really
blessing us right now. We had eight people come to sacrament
yesterday! And the other companionship in our ward had 4 so there were
12 non members in church. It was awesome. Sadly the one person we
really needed to come to church was the 10 year old boy rylan. We were
pretty sad, because now we have to push his baptism back because he
actually hasn't ever been to church. But he is such an awesome kid! I
love him.

We had some really good lessons with Nuvia as well where we made a
goal with her to baptized on march 25! She loves church and all the
people and texts us all the time about how much she likes it.
I think the highlight for me was teaching Nancy last night. We taught
her the plan of salvation and once again, i have to say how much i
love teaching it. She talked about how much more hope and confort she
had after learning that god has a plan for us and that there is a
purpose for this life, and that we know where we are going after. The
spirit was really strong and helped her understand the importance of
baptism. As we were finishing up she asked us if her daughter who just
turned 8 could be baptized as well! Her name is Haney and she is so
cute. She came to a baptism about a month ago and learned that you can
be baptized at 8 and has been wanting to ever since. We ended up
deciding that they were both going to be baptized on the 18 of march!
The work is going great, my companion is doing great, learning a lot
little by little, we live with two others that also serve in our ward,
so really it just feels like we are all companions so its fun. Weve
had a lot of interesting experiences with people that just seem to
walk around doing nothing, but always want to talk with us about
something crazy that happened to them haha.
Gotta go.

I hope guys aren't dying in more snow haha.

Love you,

Elder Miller
